"Carbon Capture Masters" where carbon dioxide can be exchanged for oil!

The "carbon" in "carbon reduction" refers to the ubiquitous carbon dioxide on the earth, too much or too little will not do, how to achieve a dynamic balance, scientists have opened a new exploration.

CCUS is an acronym for the initials of four English words - Carbon, Capture, Utilisation and Storage. It is figuratively called "carbon catcher". It is a hard-core integrated technology that scientists are exploring in the midst of the energy wave.

The logic of CCUS is that since it is impossible to avoid carbon dioxide production, is it possible to collect carbon dioxide and bury it underground, thus avoiding carbon pollution.

In Shaanxi, the Yanchang Petroleum Group's team is becoming a "master of carbon capture", burying carbon dioxide emitted from chemical plants into underground oil channels, "squeezing" out more oil, and turning carbon dioxide into treasure. As carbon dioxide is injected into the ground, the crude oil in the rock layer is squeezed out, and the carbon dioxide completes the mission of driving oil, and at the same time, it is also permanently sealed into the ground, which reduces carbon emissions in the atmosphere.

Coal "whitewash" road! Medical bone nails are made of it?

The power of science and technology not only reduces carbon emissions, it even directly transforms coal, "black coal" into "white coal".

In a new chemical plant of the National Energy Group, black coal is the raw material.

Here, the coal is pressed into powder, and then water is added to turn it into coal-water slurry, which flows with higher combustion efficiency and lower pollution emissions. The coal-water slurry is fed into a vaporiser to be burnt, where the elements are recombined and turned into carbon monoxide and hydrogen, and then a catalyst is added to ignite them and the carbon is separated out.

With different catalysts, the black coal turns into a transparent liquid. It then undergoes a series of chemical reactions and crystallises into solid particles.

Eventually, the "black coal" through the baptism of science and technology, turned into a special polymer material - PGA (polyglycol 02:36).

PGA is a "rare species" in the material world. It has almost all the properties of plastic, and can be completely harmless natural degradation. According to the different properties of PGA, the use of biocompatibility can be made into surgical sutures, bone nails, stents.

PGA's high mechanical strength allows it to be made into machine parts for use in special scenarios. It can also replace plastic to make biodegradable plastic bags, disposable cutlery, etc.

This precious material transformed from coal is doing scientific research for mass production, and Chinese scientists are continuing to look for breakthroughs in the field of coal chemical industry.
